Prof. Nath is named the new vice chancellor of Kashmir’s Central University.
An letter addressed to the registrar of the Central University of Kashmir, Green Campus, Duderhama, Ganderbal, in this regard stated, “President in her capacity as the Visitor of Central University of Kashmir has been pleased to appoint Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, dean faculty of technology, Osmania University, Hyderabad, as the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir as per Statute 2 of Central Universities Act, 2009 for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office, or until he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.”
Prof. Nath possesses doctoral and master’s degrees in chemistry from Osmania University, as well as degrees in industrial chemistry from Kakatiya University in Warangal. The doctoral degree in pharmacy is from Stony Brook University (formerly SUNY), Stony Brook, New York, USA, while the master’s degree in biotechnology is from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad.
Additionally, he has served as an academic dean at Osmania University, dean of development and UGC affairs at MANUU, and professor and head of the pharmacy and biotechnology departments at Osmania University.
In addition, he was appointed by the Telangana State Government to serve as the chairman of a committee on the implementation of CBCS and CFSD. He has also been a resource and expertise member for bodies that regulate higher education and technical training.
As a result of his exposure to academics and the training he has obtained via professional development, Prof. Nath has broad knowledge in several sectors linked to technical education, human healthcare, and welfare.
