Raids conducted by the NIA in Kashmir target recently formed militant groups
In connection with a fresh investigation involving a militant outfit, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted raids at numerous places in South Kashmir. The Central Reserve Police Force and the Police supported the NIA sleuths in conducting the raids at five locations in South Kashmir.
Early in the morning, raids on the homes of hybrid militants and Over Ground Workers of the militants started, and they lasted for several hours.
According to a representative for the agency, the NIA carried out raids at five different locations in Anantnag, Shopian, and Pulwama and confiscated multiple digital devices that had a vast amount of incriminating evidence.
The sites raided today were homes of hybrid militants and OGWs connected to recently formed offshoots and affiliations of multiple outlawed Kashmiri militant organisations, according to the statement.
“The properties of these organisations’ cadres and sympathisers were also searched. For their involvement in acts of terrorism, violence, and subversion in J&K, all of these cadres and employees are under investigation. The NIA is concerned about their possible involvement in the acquisition and transfer of IEDs, cash, narcotics, weapons, and ammunition, as well as sticky explosives and magnetic bombs.
